Finding Your Way to Us

DRIVING  If you will be driving to the conference location, please be sure to use the site’s main entrance at E Maple St. and University Dr. Once you’ve entered the grounds, stay left at the first three forks and go right at the fourth to enter the conference parking lot, called the “Purple Lot.” There will be signs to the conference center once you arrive in the parking lot. The address of the conference location is: 1000 E Maple Ave., Mundelein, IL 60060.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT (from O’Hare International Airport) — For those of you using public transportation, there are two options to get you from Chicago O'Hare to the conference site: a time efficient route and a scenic route through downtown Chicago. Tickets for the trains can be purchased on board, but only cash is accepted.

Time efficient route (approx. 1 hour): To proceed directly to the conference center from the airport, please follow these steps. We recommend that you follow the directions we give below rather than Google’s automatic directions, as they include bus transfers which are unnecessary. 

  • Follow the signs in the airport to the shuttle buses serving the economy parking lots. Take the shuttle bus towards Lots E & H

  • Alight the bus in Economy Lot E

  • Board the Metra shuttle bus at this stop that takes you the rest of the way to the Chicago O'Hare Transfer train station (Map)

  • Board the NCS line in the direction of Antioch and exit the train at Mundelein train station (the 6th stop). The train leaves at the following times: 7:43 AM, 9:32 AM, 1:32 PM, 3:32 PM, 4:59 PM, 5:31 PM, 6:03 PM, 6:33 PM, 7:32 PM, and 9:02 PM. (Map)

  • If you are arriving on Thursday or Friday, there will be a shuttle service to pick you up at the train station in Mundelein and drop you off at the conference location.

The scenic route (approx. 2 hours 15 min.): This route takes you through the heart of Chicago’s historic downtown just steps away from the site of Jane Addams’ Hull-House, the Art Institute of Chicago, and Millennium Park.

  • Follow the signs in the airport to "Trains to the City". Take the Blue Line from Chicago O’Hare to the Clinton stop in downtown Chicago

  • Depart at the Clinton stop and walk due North for two blocks to the beautiful Union Station. The train leaves at the following times: 7:10 AM, 9:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM, 4:25 PM, 5:01 PM, 5:31 PM, 6:00 PM, 7:00 PM, and 8:30 PM. (Map)

  • Take the Metra NCS line North to Mundelein station (Map)

  • If you are arriving on Thursday or Friday, there will be a shuttle service to pick you up at the train station in Mundelein and drop you off at the conference location.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT (from Chicago Midway Airport, approx. 1 hour) — For those of you flying into Midway, the directions are straightforward. Follow the signs in the airport to "Trains to the City". Take the Orange Line from Midway to the Quincy stop in downtown Chicago

  • Depart at the Quincy stop and walk due West on Adams Street for three blocks, crossing the river to the beautiful Union Station (Map).

  • Take the Metra NCS line North to Mundelein station (Map). The train to Mundelein leaves at the following times: 7:10 AM, 9:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM, 4:25 PM, 5:01 PM, 5:31 PM, 6:00 PM, 7:00 PM, and 8:30 PM.

  • If you are arriving on Thursday or Friday, there will be a shuttle service to pick you up at the train station in Mundelein and drop you off at the conference location.

Finding Your Way Home

PUBLIC TRANSPORT (to Chicago O’Hare International Airport, approx. 1 hour, 35 minutes): Unfortunately, the NCS train directly to Mundelein does not run on Saturday or Sunday, so PESNA will be offering shuttle services to the alternate train to the city (MD-N line, stop Libertyville), which offers connecting services for trains to O'Hare.

  • For the time efficient route (1 hour and 15 minutes), depart at the Mayfair stop and cross Montrose Ave to enter the Montrose train station. The Blue Line subway from Montrose to O’hare leaves every 6 minutes or so. (Map)

  • For the scenic route, depart at Union Station in downtown Chicago. All blue line stations will take you to O’Hare.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT (to Chicago Midway Airport, approx. 2 hours, 15 minutes): As mentioned, the NCS train directly to Mundelein does not run on Saturday or Sunday, so PESNA will be offering shuttle services to the alternate train to the city (MD-N line, stop Libertyville).

  • Take the MD-N line into the city, departing at Union Station, cross the river to enter the Quincy subway station. The Orange Line subway from Quincy to Midway leaves every 7 minutes or so. Total travel time will be approximately 2 hours from Libertyville to Midway Airport. (Map)
